---------------------------
(BBS Packaging)
ToolDriver provides a window environment for organizing a software project's
files and naming conventions. It comes with menus, mouse support and online
help. It has everything you need to setup, run, view and print output from
cross referencing as well as name-changing functions with FileXref and
NameChanger, both included.
NameChanger is excellent for easily changing your naming style
(conventions). It may also be used for porting applications between DOS
and non-DOS platforms where naming requirements are different (name
lengths and case sensitivity).
FileXref produces cross reference reports showing interrelationships - files
to files, and files to names. It will also identify a list of unreferenced
files - a source for finding obsolete items!
REQUIREMENTS: ToolDriver runs on machines with a 286 or higher
processor and running DOS 3.1 or higher. A hard disk, and at least
one floppy drive are also required to run ToolDriver.
INSTALLATION:
Unziping the files is 99% of the job! After that, all that's left to do is
to make a subdirectory named WORK.
We recommend the following installation steps:
1. MKDIR C:\TOOLDRIV Create a directory for ToolDriver.
2. CD C:\TOOLDRIV Go to that directory.
3. PKUNZIP C:\DOWNLOAD\TLDR20.ZIP Extract the files from the ToolDriver
ZIP file you downloaded. (Adjust
this to point to where YOU downloaded
ToolDriver.)
4. MKDIR WORK Create a subdirectory needed by
ToolDriver.
5. TD This starts ToolDriver.
Within ToolDriver use F1 for help.
Use the File/Print option to get
hardcopy documentation.
USAGE NOTES:
1. When you print the documentation files, you'll need to setup your
printer for a printline of 80 characters and a font capable of
printing the IBM ASCII Character Codes set. (Many of the figures use
line drawing characters).
2. The cross reference report file (FILEXREF.RPT) requires a printline
width of 132. Set your printer accordingly when you print this file.
3. Use FILES=20 (or more) in CONFIG.SYS and have DOS in the PATH.
